Liability cover for up to £2m is included as standard on our Landlord Insurance policies

This will protect you if a tenant or visitor becomes injured in (or as a result of) your property. This cover is essentially public liability insurance for landlords.
For example, if a loose tile were to fall off the roof and hit your tenant or a passer-by, you may be liable to pay compensation and it can often be expensive to resolve. Liability cover can mitigate this risk.

    Covers your liability as the landlord to pay compensation and legal costs in relation to bodily injury to either a tenant or member of the public due to negligence on your part in the safety of your property.

    Whether you're the landlord of a freehold or leasehold property, you may be responsible for maintaining the fixtures and fittings within the property. You will be covered for repair or replacement costs of fixtures and fitting within the property, including:

    • Breakage of fixed glass and fixed mirrors

    • Damage caused by the illegal cultivation of drugs

    • Theft of the building's fabric (eg. roof tiles or insulation)

    • Damage to electrical sockets or light fittings

    Covers the value of all of the items in the rental property that belong to the landlord (such as upholstery and furniture) against accidental and malicious damage, up to a limit of £00,000.

    This is an optional policy add-on.
    This is a legal requirement for any landlord that employs staff (such as an admin assistant or handyman) and covers your liability to pay compensation and legal costs in relation to work-related sickness or bodily injury of an employee.

    If your property becomes damaged to the point that it is uninhabitable, the rental income you would have been paid is covered for a period of up to 24 months while the property cannot be occupied.

This cover is for residential properties only and is designed specifically for landlords, who own a leasehold flat in a building that's insured under a freeholder's building policy but the buildings policy excludes cover for the leaseholders fixtures and fittings.
